Abortion Policies

 “The abortion policy in the District of Columbia same under sharp fire last week from the body that has the last word on the nation’s capital.  Rep. Trent Franks (R- AZ) introduced legislation that would ban abortions of fetuses 20 weeks or older in Washington, D. C.  Franks, chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee I the House cited research that fetuses can feel pain beginning at 20 weeks.  Already, the National Right to Life Committee has announced it would make the Arizonians’ bill one of its top priorities in the coming session of Congress.  To no one’s surprise, the District’s nonvoting Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) told reporters she will attempt to stop the bill because she feels it is an intrusion on ‘self-rule’ for Washington, D.C.”  Human Events, January 30, 2012, p. 4 Continue reading
