Skewed Health Care

Why Obamacare must be replaced

Allen Unruh, Open Letter, August 7, 2017

Dr_Allen_Unruh_CNA_US_Catholic_News_5_31_11Obamacare is like a hospital gown: You think you’re covered, but you’re not. The federal government with it’s $20 trillion deficit and $150 trillion in unfunded mandates is in charge of your health. We may as well hire the mafia to fight crime. Why not put Madonna in charge of abstinence education? It’s likened to giving your teenager the keys to your new sports car and a case of whiskey and sending them to Vegas hoping for a good outcome. It’s all based on a false premise, that health care is a new right granted by government.

Health care is a professional service subject to the same economic laws and principles of every other service. Every month Obamacare is in force, insurance rates go up, the people have less coverage and the few insurance companies left are dropping out of the market because Obamacare disallows them from making a profit. A nation that can justify killing unborn babies throughout all nine months for the crime of inconvenience, will certainly justify eliminating other inconvenient people such as the aged, the disabled and people with chronic pain or expensive ailments, all for what the left considers “the greater good.” The right to die, will become the duty to die. C.S. Lewis said, “Of all the tyrannies, the tyranny of doing what’s best for the greater good is the most despotic.” So, what is your life worth? Who lives, who dies and who decides? Tens of thousands of unaccountable bureaucrats must monitor who gets care and what the costs will be. People are property of the state and doctors are slaves of the state.

James Madison, the chief architect of the Constitution said, “It does little avail to the American people if laws are written that are so voluminous nobody can read them, so incoherent nobody can understand them.” They are altered and modified before they are promulgated and subject to interpretation so nobody knows what the law meant yesterday, what it means today or what it will mean tomorrow. Socialism only works in two places: Heaven where they don’t need it and hell where they already have it.

Joseph Stalin, who killed 100 million people said, “Socialized Medicine is the cornerstone of communism, it is the only sure-fire way to control the people.” It’s not about health care. It’s about power and control. It will be hell care in the future. Ben Franklin said, “He who would trade liberty for government security will receive and deserve neither.” We are all in the same boat and there’s one principle about a boat: You can’t sink half of it.

The biggest lie in the history of politics was when President Barack Obama said, “If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor, if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance.” “The average premium will go down $2,500. That’s why Gruber, a chief architect of Obamacare said, “We have to depend on the stupidity of the American people to pass this.” Any product or service with unlimited demand and extremely limited resources is on a collision course for failure. It’s like trying to cover a football field with a beach towel. It’s like giving yourself a blood transfusion by taking the blood out of your left arm and putting it in your right and spilling half of it on the way. Obamacare is unconstitutional despite the Supreme Court. The issue is freedom vs. servitude.

The Declaration of Independence guarantees our inalienable (God-given) right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Obamacare replaces God with government. This is completely foreign to the entire ideal of America’s founding. If the majority prefer free care over liberty they should remember, there’s always free cheese in a mousetrap. The new emergency number for Obamacare will soon be: 1-800-YOU-DEAD.

Allen Unruh, 69, lives in Sioux Falls. He has been a chiropractic physician since 1970. He is the author of four books including: “The Politically Incorrect Book of Humor,” Why it’s better to be right than politically correct,” and “If the Government Doesn’t Get off our Backs, The Whole Country will need a Chiropractor.” He has also been a delegate to three National Republican Conventions.
